Some unorthodox but delicious meal, snack, treat, and dessert ideas

Dark chocolate stuffed with milk chocolate

Not so nasty and bitter, but rich. It’s not too unorthodox, but stuffing dark chocolate with white chocolate may be more orthodox.

Dairy and non-dairy milk blends

Let’s start with the dairy. Mixed goat and cow’s milk? Maybe for the ice cream mentioned below.

Then the non-dairy blends. Mix almond breeze or alternatively cashew milk with oat milk. Not sure about soy milk.

Carob and coffee blend

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think I read somewhere that this would simulate chocolate fairly well. Without the theobromine, and possibly healthier.

Instead of hot chocolate?

Nutiva as frosting

Nutiva is like Nutella, but darker and more on the high-quality side. The dark version has carob mixed into it. Unfortunately it’s only available at Walmart, maybe Amazon. Here’s some ideas:

  • Nutiva frosted cake – potentially healthier than conventional cake frosting
  • Nutiva dipped dates – balance out some of the ickiness some find.
  • Nutiva may also be good on ice cream.
  • Nutiva frosted cupcake.
  • Nutiva frosted donuts – Don’t care if the donuts are razed or cake. Not so strong like conventional donut frosting.

Nutrition-enriched cookies

Whole wheat chocolate chip peanut butter cookies, with embedded oats and sliced almonds.

Use natural peanut butter, of which Eastwind would be great. Or mixed nut butter.

Chocolate chips may be bittersweet or semisweet dark chocolate. Use both Ghirardelli dark chocolate chunks and Nestle semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Sandwich ice cream between two of them, like big bopper but with some differences. To make things even more unorthodox but delicious, use dark chocolate ice cream, possibly marbled with fudge and brownie or alternatively Nutiva. Yes, ice cream may be preferred over custard or frozen yogurt.

Venison marinated with cranberry sauce, or venison steak with cranberry concentrate as dipping sauce

Balance out the gamy flavor of venison.

A particular pasta meal

Combination of squash noodles (either spaghetti squash or summer squash), whole wheat spaghetti, and egg noodles, and of course the normal Italian tomato sauce and meatballs, and also spinach. Would those different noodle types complicate things?

Have garlic cheese bread with spinach and feta in addition to cheddar, mozzarella, and provolone. That side would also be for the next idea.

Stuffed peppers on pasta

Red and/or yellow peppers stuffed with a hunk of sausage and brown rice, marinated with Italian sauce. These could be served on pasta noodles.

Instead of diced peppers, and also instead of pure meatballs.

Addition to either of the above two

Cubed zucchini and summer squash, instead of summer squash noodles, but could still have spaghetti squash.

Have tomatoes of course, but instead of pepper slices or dices, could have stuffed peppers of the previous idea, also instead of meatballs.

Yes, spinach would be great.

Garlic mashed potatoes

Olive oil, asiago cheese, and butter instead of whole or skim milk.

Any that I missed will be down below here.
